here's my review about David's new album: Beautiful...
this album is the second of David's Music Great Leap Forward, its style is converted away from opiniating heavy world issues to romantic and light music. Many of us TAOism fans are eagering expecting new songs with the same feelings as songs like I Love You, Quick Sand etc. where the music is simple yet catchy, and the lyrics are simple but beautiful. However i must say the new album is still far from "Beautiful" the no.1 hit Too Beautiful has lost the "David feeling", which is the mixture of fake and real voices, the whole song sang with real voice caused us to like the song but grew sick of it soon. the 2nd hit Cant Forget was a lousy remake of the oldies as compared to previous works like Wang Chun Feng and Ye Lai Xiang. the original song Wang Bu Liao was a soft and gentle song, but became a noisy old school hip hop, it terribly damaged the romantic atmosphere. Still prefer old attempt where efforts were concentrated not on changing the genre, but adding the R&B touch to oldies, giving it a new life. However i must point out the songs in this album are relatively lasting, as in you will not get tired listening to it soon, there's no crap songs, but there's no outstanding songs either, which makes this album a average David standard.
talking about david made me recall the lyrics for I Love You again, i always wanted to say this to you but i dun think there's any chance already.
